Cash for Books

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

From now until May 2, the Barnes and Noble book store will be buying back text books. Either sell them back at the Cullis Wade Depot location or one of three mobile locations: Trailer at Union, Tent at corner of Lee/Barr, or Tent in front of Rice Hall.

While you won’t get nearly the price you paid for those books, it is nice to get at least something for them. A little extra money heading into summer is never a bad thing.

Bulldogs in Motion 5K Run and Fun Walk

Friday, April 11th, 2008

Looking to make plans this weekend in Starkville? Check out the Bulldogs in Motion 5K Run and Fun walk. It’s set to begin at 10am a the Sanderson Center.

There is a $10 registration fee and the first 100 entrants get a t-shirt because that’s the real reason for taking part in these such events. You need to a t-shirt to a) prove that you did it and b) to brag that you did take part.

The event is sponsored by the MSU Dietetic Association.

Bill Nye speaks on campus

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

The big buzz around the Internet is that the New Kids on the Block are going to reunite for a tour. What excites me more is to know that Bill Nye “The Science Guy” will be speaking on the MSU campus tomorrow.

He will speaking at 7:30pm in Lee Hall Wednesday, April 9.. The lecture is free. I love watching his show. Think of Bill Nye as the original mythbuster. He was always doing something cool and explained it in a fun, ‘non-scientific’ way.

Too bad I’m not in Starkville or this would be a fun event to attend.
